South Dakota Board of Examiners in Optometry

The reason and effect of the proposed revisions to 20:50:04:06 and 20:50:10:03 is to clarify the expiration of contact lens and spectacle prescriptions. The reason and effect of the proposed revisions to 20:50:07:01 is to revise minimum requirements for a comprehensive optometric examination, to make the rule consistent with current standards for the profession. The reason and effect of proposed revisions to 20:50:08:02.01 is to allow an optometrist in certain situations to receive credit for live stream continuing education presentations as “live” continuing education.
