70:01:02:01(20) - Minnehaha County limited speed zone rule
A limited speed zone is being established on SD Highway 42 beginning 0.9 mile West of the intersection with Minnehaha County Highway 139, then running east for 0.80 mile, 55 miles per hour; then running east for 0.10 mile to the intersection with Minnehaha County Highway 139, 45 miles per hour. The purpose of the rule is to slow down traffic near the Cherry Lake Reserve Development occuring on the North side of Highway 42, which has increased traffic entering and exiting the highway. A speed reduction will reduce the potential for left turn and rear end crashes.
