ARSD 24:28 (Educator Certification); ARSD 24:53 (Educator Preparation Program Approval)
The effect of the rules is to require all certified educators, new to the profession or from out-of-state, to take an approved South Dakota Indian studies course to gain certification. The reason for adopting the proposed rules is for all educators to gain a better understanding of the state’s tribal peoples, history, cultural, and learning styles.
