Child Care Services - Economic Assistance

The proposed rule change will broaden the definition of protective custody to include children in protective custody arrangements that do not require a court order. This includes children who are in need of protective custody who can avoid being placed in the custody of the state though safety plan agreements facilitated by CPS with kinship providers. Additionally, the change would update the definition of “adult exercising parental control” to prevent an additional barrier for applicants, since the signed statement is no longer necessary for child care as permission can be verified though other DSS programs. Lastly, the proposed rule changes remove acronyms throughout this Article.
