South Dakota Board of Education Standards Chapter 24:43:02 (State Accreditation and Approval System) and Article 24:55 (Public School Accountability System)
The effect and purpose of changes to Chapter 24:43:02 is to authorize the Department to equalize the distribution of accreditation reviews across a five-year time frame. The effect and purpose of changes to Article 24:55 is to align language related to the state accountability system, performance goals, school classifications, and school support process with the State’s approved plan pursuant to the Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015 and South Dakota law.
