The United States Department of State (USDOS) has updated its document order requirements for J-1 Visa Waiver applications and now allows applications to be submitted electronically. The proposed changes to ARSD 44:63 incorporate these federal updates by revising the required order of documents in the application, allowing electronic submission of J-1 Visa Waiver applications, requiring the application fee to be received within 10 business days of electronic submission, revising the definition of full-time employment to clarify requirements for shift-based physicians, and allowing the case number to be displayed in the bottom right-hand corner of each application page.

The Office of Lifespan Health is adding three new conditions, Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, Mucopolysaccharidosis Type I (MPS I), and Mucopolysaccharidosis Type II (MPS II), to the required tests under the newborn screening program based on nomination, review, recommendation, and approval by the state's newborn screening nomination committee and the newborn screening advisory committee.
